I'm a Midwest girl who's always leaned towards the tomboy side of life, courtesy of athletics and a love for casual clothes and flip-flops and the color blue. I'll wear makeup for special occasions and I do own a few dresses, but generally I'm pretty low-maintenance when it comes to style and appearance, which works out well because I have a husband, a son and a house decorated in stripes and plaids and nothing too feminine.

I'm good with all of that, but even tomboys need some girly touches in their lives, and that's where my jewelry comes in! I started making jewelry as a hobby to kill time during my husband's many deployments, and after a lot of support and encouragement from some really talented and crafty friends whose opinions I deeply respect, I opened Blu Daisy Jewelry on Etsy in late 2010.

This Blu Daisy Jewelry shop doesn't have as many items in it as I'd like, but that's partially due to wanting to keep the shop items "ready to ship". I may change that in the future, but for now I like the process of formulating a design idea, creating the piece, photographing it for maximum detail and exposure, and getting the piece listed in my shop.

I also enjoy doing custom orders and lately I've had a lot of those, which means a little less time to create pieces specifically for the shop.
